WiredAudio was created in early 1996 by Brian Simpson, former Program Director of Melbourne radio station’s 3MP and Magic 693.
WiredAudio delivers audio-on-demand services and live netcasts to listeners in Australia and around the world. As well as developing it’s own programs, WiredAudio is working with a number of third party producers to deliver their programs via the Internet and/or by permanent ISDN links, cable and broadcast radio.
The audio-on-demand and live netcasts use RealAudio 2.0 technology from Progressive Networks of Seattle. Free RealAudio players are readily available for all major operating systems and install as helpers for major Internet Browsers or Plug-Ins for Netscape 2.0/3.0. The real time streaming audio in RealAudio makes download before playing obsolete. Clicking on any audio URL opens the RealAudio player and the sound begins playing within seconds.
WiredAudio is involved in producing a range of audio programs from short company profiles through to live sportscasts and complete customised music formats. It uses digital studios in Melbourne and Sydney for fast top quality results and a makes a broad ranges of other professional radio resources accessible to the Internet World.
WiredAudio is currently based in Frankston, in the Southern Suburbs/Mornington Peninsula area of Melbourne, Australia’s second largest city.
